Gjiro Art

Arjela was commissioned by (GCDO) Gjirokastra Conservation and Development Organization  to develop a collection of garments and accessories inspired by the city of Gjirokastër that would be hand produced by local artisans. The project was financed by the German Embassy in Tirana through (GIZ) Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit
(Kick here to read more about the project)

The objective of this project was to fill the gap in the Albanian market of souvenirs where aesthetics, usability and price often can not be found in a single product.

The increase of foreign tourists in Albania in recent years has brought about the increase in demand for a variety of new products that would follow both traditional design and modern trends. Arjela was commissioned to create a collection of such products, required to be of modern usage and of traditional value.
